For Washington Redskins fans Dawn and John Morris, the last mega-exciting Super Bowl Sunday was in 1992, the most recent time their team made it to the big show — and 10 years before the couple threw their very first Super Bowl party. On Dec. 11, Rocktown Weekly published an article about the PetSmart Rescue Waggin’, a transport vehicle that relocates dogs to shelters with higher adoption rates in order to save them from being euthanized. In December, 14 dogs were transferred from the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA to Animal Welfare Association in New Jersey; all 14 have since been adopted.

AUDITIONS FOR “BILLY CRUMBPACKER’S AWESOME ENGLISH REPORT,” a Traveling Jones Theater production, will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the Board of Supervisors Room at the Page County Courthouse, 116 S. Court St., Luray, and from 1-5 p.m. on Feb. 13 in Conference Room D at the Rockingham County Administration Center, 20 E. Gay St., Harrisonburg. Show will tour elementary schools in Virginia two or three days a week in late March-June. An actor or actress in their 20s to early 30s is needed to play Billy (or Billie-Jean). Parts include pay.
