HARRISONBURG - Six years ago, Kenny Brooks walked into his Wilmington, N.C., hotel room, turned on the TV and became transfixed.
On the screen was a tape-delay girls' basketball game featuring Laney High School. Brooks - then the interim women's basketball coach at James Madison - was captivated by one player.
