Leonard Eugene Campbell, 61, of Harrisonburg, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at his home.

Norma Virginia Deputy, 89, a resident of Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010.

Barbara Lambert, 67, of Burnsville, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at her home.

Sandra E. Mumaw, 61

Sandra Ellen Mumaw, 61, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Pastor Matthew Diehl, Pastor William Ballance Jr. and President Tracy Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow in Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock.

Sandra was born Feb. 20, 1949, in Woodstock, daughter of Reba Coffelt Thompson of Woodstock and the late Floyd Lee Thompson. She was a 1967 graduate of James Madison High School in Vienna and received her LPN training at Triplett Tech in Mount Jackson. She was formerly employed as a LPN at Skyline Terrace Nursing Home in Woodstock. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints in Woodstock and an EMT and life member of the Mount Jackson Rescue Squad.

Surviving, along with her mother, are her two daughters, Stephanie Ruozi Melbourne of Dallas, Texas, and Kerry Mumaw Wilson of Lenoir City, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be Dexter Mumaw, Billy Mumaw, Keith Walker, Doug Walker, Gary Walker and Larry Haggard.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mount Jackson Rescue Squad.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Norma V. Deputy, 89

Norma Virginia Deputy, 89, a resident of Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010. She had been resident there for six years.

Mrs. Deputy was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Dan G. and Irene Heatwole Shank. She was a homemaker, worked for Frank and Harman Hatchery, and was caretaker for Dr. Preston. She was a member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.

On March 15, 1938, she married John Deputy, who preceded her in death Dec. 19, 2008.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Holder and husband Thomas of Manhattan, Kan., and Lois Huffman of The Villages, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Showalter and husband Mark of Broadway; a brother-in-law, Byard Deputy of Harrisonburg; two grandchildren, Jill Nix and Dustin Huffman; and one great-granddaughter, Anabelle Huffman.

Pastors Shirlee K. Yoder and Sam Janzen will conduct a memorial service at Strite Auditorium at Crestwood of VMRC on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2040 Deyerle Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

Victor Marafino, 57

Mr. Victor Marafino, 57, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at his home.

He was born on June 1, 1953, in Rhode Island and was the son of Andrew Marafino Sr. and Margie Hicks Marafino of Harrisonburg.

Mr. Marafino resided in Harrisonburg for the past 21 years and was employed with James Madison University. He graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.A. degree. He served in the U.S. Army, and in the Rhode Island and Virginia National Guard.

On June 29, 1974, he married Judith A. Fenner, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, David A. Marafino of West Virginia, and James M. Marafino of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Cynthia L. Marafino of Harrisonburg; brothers and sisters, Andrew Marafino Jr. of Arizona, John Marafino of Harrisonburg, Margaret Marafino of Connecticut, Peter Marafino of Rhode Island, Norma Marafino of Harrisonburg; and nine nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in the Veteran's Cemetery in Exeter, R.I., at a later date.

Sanford W. ‘Pat' Patrick, 70

Sanford William "Pat" Patrick, 70 of Harrisonburg, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born Aug. 16, 1940, in McGregor, Minn., and was the son of the late Edwin and Ethel Patrick.

He began his career in the U.S. Air Force, serving on the Atlas Missile Team. He later continued his career in the private sector. He was a computer engineer at Unisys. Pat was enjoying his retirement through coin collecting, going to auctions, and traveling with his wife, Joyce. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife, Joyce Breneman Patrick of Harrisonburg; daughters, Theresa Patrick White and husband, James, of Sykesville, Md., and Renee' Patrick; a brother; Larry Patrick of McGregor, Minn.; grandchildren, Robert White and Katherine White; stepchildren, Neil Showalter and wife, Lorie, of Strasburg, Elizabeth Danner and husband, Larry, of Harrisonburg, Allen Showalter and wife, Shelia, of Bridgewater, Linda Peale and husband, Vernon, of Bridgewater; and many step-grandchildren.

Mr. Patrick was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Adams Patrick. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. A memorial service, officiated by Evangelist Larry Danner, will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. in the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery in Falling Waters, W.Va., at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010.
